On 04.26.12, Illinois landscape architects, students, and related professionals will once again take to the streets to engage the public in conversations about our profession. We are partnering with FRED (Frederick Riverside Education Design), who will be kicking-off their August event by unveiling the planters on parade. FRED is an unprecedented three-day education and networking event bringing experts and homeowners together on garden and landscape design in Riverside.

ILASLA will celebrate FLO’s birthday by showing the public why our profession matters, renewing the energy generated on 08.17.11, when more than 1,000 people participated in over 250 outreach events across the county. This year, the call to celebrate Olmsted’s birthday could not be more in line with the National Landscape Architecture Month’s theme of Public Health & Active Living, as Olmsted’s roots in landscape architecture first started with his dedication to these principles. The Illinois Chapter is planning to host an early evening event in Riverside, IL – there will be cake!
